Truth be told, many individuals today are struggling to lose weight because of two things – they feel like diet food is expensive and they think that going to the gym will cost them a lot of money. While these thoughts can be true one way or another, there are still many ways to lose weight (without starving yourself) without having to spend a lot of money, or any amount of money at all! With simple changes in your lifestyle or the way you eat, as well as trying out exercises that don’t require expensive equipment, then you can be on your way to having a fitter and healthier body!
1. Check Out Exercise Videos on YouTube
Do you still remember the time (or are you old enough to remember the time) when people had to buy VHS tapes, VCD’s or DVD’s of workout and aerobic videos? Videos just like those are now available on YouTube and you can watch them again and again, for free! Just turn on your laptop or computer, or even your iPad then start sweating it out with these YouTube videos.
2. Burpees, Push-Ups, Sit-Ups, Planks, etc.
There are so many workouts that don’t require expensive equipment. Among them are burpees, push-ups, sit-ups, planks and more. You don’t even need pricey gym clothes and shoes to do these. Your regular sport shoes an old shirt and shorts or leggings will do. You can practically do these inside your bedroom before you take a shower in the morning or before you call it a day. Just 15 to 20 minutes of doing these will make you lose a significant amount of weight as long you remain consistent.
3. Run Around the Neighborhood
You don’t have to drive somewhere just to run. Just get your sweats on and your running shoes and you can already run around your neighborhood. Run a few blocks and you can already sweat as much as you need to if you want to lose a lot of weight.
4. Walk Instead of Driving
If you’re going somewhere near, instead of bringing your car, just walk. For longer distances, ride your mountain bike instead. Make sure you take the right equipment with you when you’re on the road, like a small repair kit and the best small bicycle pumps. Because even though mountain bikes are made to withstand the roughest roads, you have no excuse to just stand there and do nothing; trekking means being prepared.
5. Jump Rope
For less than $5, you can find a wide variety of jump ropes on Amazon. Working out with a jump rope is so effective because your whole body is moving. Using the jump rope for at least 15 to 20 minutes per day can already give you a full body workout that can make you lose a significant amount of fats and body weight!
6. Watch What You Eat
Of course, it isn’t always about sweating it out – you also need to watch what you eat. Load up on veggies, healthy carbs and protein. Make sure you have a balanced diet. While one cheat day per week is okay, just get rid of all the junk and you’ll be fine. Drink plenty of water too so you can stay hydrated. Water improves your metabolism too.
